Comprehensive Youth Ministry For young people, grades 7 and up, who wish to come together once a month to have some fun, to look at their faith, and/or to see where they can be helpful to others. Those interested are asked to fill out a red-coloured registration form available at the doors. We need leaders to assist with the planning and implementation of the programs and activities. Family Catechetics The word catechetics means faith development/formation. From September to June the coordinator and catechetics meet monthly with parents and children. We are always grateful when individuals are willing to offer assistance in this adventure. Children’s Liturgy of the Word At the 10:30 a.m. Sunday Mass the parish provides a Liturgy of the Word adapted for easier understanding and participation by the children. Music is a part of this program. Leaders, musicians and other assistants are needed. RCIA [Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults] This is a process by which men and women enter the way of faith and are welcomed into full membership in the Church. We need people who would be willing to share their faith with the candidates in a small group setting. The coordinator would arrange the weekly sessions. Adult Faith Development Discuss ways to deepen the faith of adults in the parish. Baptism Preparation Sessions Once a month we conduct a Baptism preparation program so that those requesting Baptism have an even deeper understanding and appreciation of the Sacrament and its importance in the life of their children. With several couples assisting, leaders would be involved only a few times during the year. Marriage Preparation Sessions Couples come together for a weekend experience in preparation for their marriage. Usually five married couples conduct the program. We are always in need of couples willing to relate their experience to those in the program Lectors Persons proclaiming the Word of God at Sunday Mass and other special occasions.
